Sweet Mitten

My name is Christina, but most of my family and friends know me as Kiki. I'm not a professional baker.   In fact, I have a 9-5 job that I love. However, baking is definitely my greatest passion.

 

First, I'd like to thank my family for putting up with me all these years. For all the support they give me from trying the less successful  desserts I've made to one of the best desserts they've had, eating the same desserts over and over again in my effort to perfect a recipe, the long hours when I decided to go a little overboard with my nieces/nephews birthday cakes or providing me with some of the baking tools....awesome tools I have to say......which I can't live without anymore. To my mom, my siblings: Vera, Inge, Hera and Deny, my brothers in-law and sister in-law,  my awesome nephews: Julian, Connor, Lucas and Landon, and lastly my pretty nieces: Sam, Morgan and Kenzie..... Thank you and I love you all!

 

Second, I'd like to share with you how I started enjoying to bake. When I was in my early teens, I used to watch my aunt in the kitchen mixing eggs and sugar, adding flour, baking the cake up to decorating the cake with frosting and shaved chocolate (German blackforest cake was THE cake at the time). I remember being so mesmerized by the whole process and that kind of triggered my interest in baking.  I've never been to culinary school. My teachers, or mentors, have been random individuals who happen to be good bakers too. My aunt, my mother's friends, my friends....and the biggest mentors of all, to this day, are YOUTUBERS and BLOGGERS! Yes, all of you YouTubers and Bloggers who post all the how-tos in baking, I have to admit, you are my most awesome baking teachers. So Thank you!

 

Lastly, the purpose of this site is to share with you all my creations and get your thoughts and comments and advice for my next project. I'd share with you what I know or how I make what I made, but please note that I am not a professional baker or a baking teacher in any way.
